Do I Matter?
Greetings, everyone! Lately, I've been keeping myself busy with some questions: "do I matter?" I wish I could tell you that I came to the conclusion that I do matter, and I'm important in a very cosmic manner, but that would be a lie.
The question was never something we could ask ourselves out of the blue and just answer it. It should always come accompanied by another: "to whom?"
Because the universe is a scary place, this planet itself is a scary place, let alone the vastness of space! But does that even matter to us? Not really.
What matters to us are the people around us, those we share our little time on this world with, those who make us laugh, those who make us cry, even those who make us angry. We matter to all of them, in different ways.
And then, why would we even want to matter in a cosmic sense? Is this just us wanting to be special?
Because I want to tell you something. You, the one reading this. You matter! You are special, to me! Let's try to make the world a little better together, one smile at a time.
You matter.
